Float shoe

It is designed for equipment of the bottom of casing strings in order to guide them along the wellbore and protect from damage during the lowering; and also to control their automatic fill-up with drill fluid without overflowing onto the wellhead; to perform the function of a plug seat and to provide leak-proof fit of the plugs in the process of punching a cement slurry in the casing string annulus and to prevent the backflow of the fluid from the well into the string at the end of cementation.

The trim provides automatic control of liquid line in the column during its lowering up to 90% of its level in the casing annulus. This significantly reduces the time required to land the casing columns, as there is no need to suspend the process of lowering forcasing fill-up, as well as possibility to increase the speed of lowering up to 1.5 m/s, without increase of the flowing pressure on the borehole walls. In general, reducing the time of the casing string being at rest and bringing down the pressure drop from the wellbore onto the walls its open hole, you will significantly reduce the risk of sticking of string and differential-pressure sticking.

To guarantee efficient and safe performance of the float shoes of type FS one should not use it if the hole deviation (deviation angle) is more than 20°.

Range of application of the universal float shoes of type FSU is not limited by deviation angle, even down to a horizontal position.

Float shoes with all types of threads are manufactured at the request of the customer.
